This is the Old Log Church in Yachats where Betty and Del were married. It is now a museum but people can arrange for ceremmies in it

This picture was taken upon our return to Skamania Lodge on the Columbia River, the site of our honeymoon. She is beautiful and he is lucky.

While visiting a local rhododendron nursery, my brother-in-law, Ed Olsen, wanted to take a picture of me. Naturally I had to "ham it up". He snapped this picture and later added the caption

Although she lived in south-central Washington, Betty often visited the coasts of Oregon and her home state. As an eighteen year old she enhanced the view of the ocean. Now she still does the same. ( This is Del's perception, as well as that of others ) Click the picture and see for yourself.

During WW2 Del served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He trained as a gunner, navigator and bombadier. He became a bombadier on a B-24 Liberator and went to the South Pacific. Del was assigned to the 90th Bomb Group, known as the Jolly Rogers (self-described as the best damn heavy bombardment group in the world)

On the Columbia River near the city of Hood River you can see many sail boarders riding the wind. Betty is giving some thought to joining them.

Here is a picture of Goodnoe Hills School, which Betty attended. There were eight grades with one teacher and about 30 students. The one room was heated with a wood stove. Betty rode a horse to the school. The building is now unused.

No, this is not the typical room arrangement in our household. Several years ago we had our house painted and the painter said he would move the things around as necessary. We lived with this for two weeks.
