When I lived in the woods the hardest thing to come by was containers.(they keep the bugs out)
5 gallon buckets and 1 gallon jars are available free from any resturant.
Or how to stock "your" first home.

First purchase:.Pantry stock, Seal in 5 gallon plastic buckets or 1 gallon glass jars.
Pickling Salt 	1 lb,  (no aluminum it causes senile dementia.) 
Coarse ground pepper 1 lb (for curing meat)
Rumford baking powder  (no al)
Baking soda 2  (1 for cubboard)
corn starch 2  (1 for cubboard)
White unbleached flour 10 lbs
sugar 10 lbs
Dry milk
Yeast l lb
Olive oil 1 kilo (spendy but worth the difference)
Red devil lye 2 (for making soap)
cheap liquid soybean oil 3 lbs (for soap, shampoo, laundry soap)
Box of borax
Bulk foods bins--
Brown rice 1 gallon
Pinto beans 1 gallon
green beans 1 case
corn 1 case
stewed tomatoes 1 case
top ramon 1 case
Apple cider vinegar 1 gallon
eggs
Ham 


2nd Purchase:At each purchase add 1 case of something, to pantry stock 
potatoes
eggs
Milk
yogurt
butter
fresh  vegetables
fresh meat
Hamburger, Beef Roast, Ham, Pork roast.
Whole wheat flour 10 lbs
Condiments 1 for the refrigerator 1 for pantry stock
spices-- add 1 country/purchase

Freezer: Buy large quantity family packs of meat. Shop in season and specials.
Repackage into meal size servings for the amount of people your feeding.
Label, date, double sack and freeze.
Rule of thumb is that quantity purchases are cheaper. Always check prices against
smaller quantity prices. Grocers know the rule too, and sometimes try to fool you.
Single living trick.
Buy whole roasts (beef or pork,ham,) Cook eat the first meal, then slice the rest and
freeze in sandwich bag lots, put in bread bag and label.
Use for taco's, barbecued sandwiches, gravies, sandwiches, soups etc. Rotate stock Pasta's and bread-- Make from staples Canning Drying As something is used up from the refrigerator and taken from pantry, add to shopping list. 3rd purchase The add too's. and fun stuff. Grains and cereals oatmeal cornmeal pasta's Mushroom soup case tomato sauce case brown sugar syrup molassas honey cheese soy sauce cottage cheese buttermilk bacon sausage 4th purchase. From here on out replace what is on shopping list. whole chicken 2, freeze 1 leave the other out for dinner. Specials on meat, repackage and freeze. Milk eggs fresh vegetables Steak (family pack, repack) chuck or cheapest for wet cooking swiss, stew, etc. Tuna fish 1 case candle
What you can do from first purchase staples: Biscuits and gravy, Ham and eggs, omelets, Pancakes, Waffles,Tara Bread, Tortillas, Rice and gravy, Beans, and Ham, Ham sandwiches, egg noodles and ham, Top ramon and ham, Make cottage cheese, from dry milk, soft cheese, from dry milk, yogurt for bread from dry milk, cheese dip, mayonaise from olive oil and egg, cake.

THE MAGIC CANDLE
When their is "nothing to eat", use the magic candle. Set the candle in the middle of the table where you would normally set the roast or chicken etc. The "MAGIC CANDLE" becomes the center, set the "go withs" out of the cubboard and refrigerator, and
