The area is a grey colored (now dry) small sea, of a thumbprint shape, to the left, 
near the equator.
There are many craters, but no structures in them, or associated.
except for 3 very tall towers in a crater in the harbor. (In beach picture) 
Maybe an earlier strike.

Or somebody survived!! They may still be hiding under ground somewhere!
We've have underground cities for that purpose since Roman times, its logical.

I would assume the bombardment from space was the end of 
the civilization. It appears that a comet sucked most of the atmosphere 
from the planet and the surface seas boiled away instantly.
(This assumption could be wrong. They may still be there.)
Structures are in too good of shape.

I found pyramids and long warehouse type structures in small groups
near bedrock formations, probably mining towns, apparantly all around
the seabed area. 

Helium is on the coast and islands just N of the Face, in fact the face 
is in the harbor.

The face is part of a theme park area with a womans figure, some structures
that appear to be a dinosaur, and some long necked creature.
There is also a pentacular area without structures, maybe still part of the theme
park. There appears to be another "face" presiding over the 5 sided playing field?
I wouldn't be surprised if the animal structures turn out to be museums.

These are large enough to be recognised from space. Were they expecting
company? Spaceport? There was obviously an architectual connection to Earth.

Structures to look for are pyramids, cones, domes, warehouses, docks, skyscrapers or 
lighthouses. (very long shadows) remember the gravity is much less than Earth,
so extremely tall structures are possible.) There are lots of rocky areas but they
are lower and irregular.
Plaza like areas, similar to the ones in Egypt seem to be common.
Another connection in architectual style.
This raises some real questions on where we came from.
Is this part of a larger galactic civilization. I think it is.

There is a Beach area 
 

that clearly shows mainland, beach and silted sea bottom with a fault line that has silt 
washed out on either side covering the beach slope. 
I think the freshwater fed down from the northeast, then into the small sea. 
The river delta swamp area would support reeds or cattail types of plants.
These in turn would supply food for fish and man. Everything they needed from boats to houses.
According to legend, RA introduced the use of reeds to man in the sub sahara
after the flood, Another possible link.

The structures seem scattered, but were probably government buildings of stone.
The rest of the common peoples homes were more likely of less sturdy construction 
and would not have survived. We'll find out when we get there.
