Tape-Lift Samples can be processed within 48 hr of receipt, with a preliminary report supplied verbally on the phone, by e-mail or fax. Cultures take longer, as identification requires subculturing on diagnostic media and varying environmental conditions. You can expect up to 2 weeks for a final diagnosis, although often we regularly receive cultures that can be diagnosed within a week if the organism is fast-growing and does not require special growth conditions for identification.

IDENTIFICATION SERVICE: 

Generally we can get you an identification of a mature single culture that you have sent us within 7 days, quick response via e-mail or fax and follow-up via landmail. Large orders or particularly fastidious organisms may take up to two weeks. For some organisms, identification requires subculturing on numerous diagnostic media and various temperature regimes, which results in extended preparation time and appropriate growth intervals.
