Pilgrimage assignment
The assignment
This assignment will be described in detail later, but for now you will need to find one day during the quarter that you can be alone somewhere; a whole day, 24 hours. Or at the absolute minimum, if you can't find a full 24 hours to be alone (which would be best), you will need to find a day in which you can be alone from the second you wake up in the morning till the moment you close your eyes in sleep at the end of the day.
It is no easy task to find the time for an assignment like this with the kinds of lives we all live these days, and it can also be difficult to find a place to be alone.
If you have trouble finding a place, below are some possible locations that have worked for people in past quarters. If you discover other locations that might work for people, please let the rest of us know.
I'll be providing more details about this assignment later, but in general it will just be a time for you to spend alone with your thoughts -- i.e., not with newspapers, radios, TVs, computers, or magazines, etc -- and then to write up a short account of how it went for you that day.
You'll need to find this day sometime after the middle part of the quarter.
