Assignment for week 7 (full)

Due: The discussion of these readings will begin on Thursday May 16th and will be completed by 6pm on Wednesday May 21st. That means, as in previous weeks, that your reading of this little book should probably be completed at least by Saturday. Again, it is not necessary to finish the book before you begin the discussions.

Read:

• Lecture: Introduction to Flatland
• "An absurdly short and totally inadequate introduction to fourth-dimensional geometry"
  
• Edwin Abbott, Flatland

  It would probably be best to read this from a book only because it is so long. Books should be available in our NSCC bookstore, or at any number of other bookstores in town. Or from amazon, or from local libraries. If none of these work, the book is also available in a nicely illustrated full-text version online, and also in a slightly less elegant, but still full-text version online.
