General grading policy
Please use the Project SE Form. Click here to download the Form, complete it, then send the Form as an attachment in a post to the "self evaluations" folder in the classroom (with the padlock icon).
In evaluating your research project,
you should take into account the following considerations:1. RESEARCH: Did I do sufficient reading? What books and chapters of books did I read? What periodicals? What web resources? What other kinds of sources? Please list the sources you used.
Did I take adequate notes on my research?
Did I discuss my project and research with others, to help understand it better?2. ORGANIZING: Did I organize all the information I discovered? How did I do that? Am I pleased with that organization?
3. Presentation: Was there anything creative about the manner in which I presented my report to the class? Was the presentation clear to readers? Did the material I learned get said? Were there any interesting questions from my colleagues? Was I able to answer those questions well?
4. Incorporating references to other class ideas: Did I make adequate reference in my paper to other books, ideas, and discussion topics we've already covered in class?
5. ASSIMILATION: Did I assimilate some of the ideas into myself, or did I just repeat dry data? Have I tried to integrate what I've learned into my own beliefs? Did I even want to?
6. OTHER: What other factors should be considered in how well I did?
7. GRADE: How did I do overall on this project? What grade do I think I deserve, and why? (Please figure your grade on the 4.0 scale.)
This self-evaluation of your research project is to be completed within a week or so after you have delivered your report in class. Date it, and then include it with your final self-evaluation at the end of the quarter.
